There aren't many things in this world that I hate as much as that trashy "trendy" approach to voice and vocals in today's music that everyone, unless they live in solitude, must somehow tolerate during their daily routines.
This is the exact reason why this album shines so brightly. As Dr. Herndon herself said in a YT video, she doesn't care about which musical archetypes anyone might expect her to follow, she always wants to create her own, and boy, this music is truly quintessential. Bravo! gh0staraj
